We invite our church members and community friends to join us for a delicious meal on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

We serve good food, fun and good fellowship. Please join us on our next event.

Scouting

Boy Scouts

Mt. Vernon has one of the largest and best Boy Scout programs in Wichita. Pack and Troop 614 started at Mt. Vernon in 1954.

Cub Scouts: Boys in grades 1-5 meet on Tuesday evenings in Fellowship Hall. Facebook page

Girl Scouts

Girl Scouting is for girls in grades K-12. Girls learn new skills, build friendships, give service to the community and develop values through hands-on learning activities. The church sponsors three Girl Scout troops for girls in Kindergarten through
9th grade.

United Methodist Men

The men’s group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Fellowship Hall at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast, sharing of fellowship and devotions. The group’s main fund-raiser is the Strawberry Festival held in August each year. The Valentine Banquet held
in February is more a celebration than a fund-raiser because little money, if any, is raised.

Funds received are used for church or church related work/activities and the men’s group has been able to give back time and money each year. Church related activities include donations to National Association of United Methodist Men in Scouting
(NAUMS) and bibles given to Boy Scouts at summer camp.

All men are welcome and hope all will come and join us.

United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women is a service organization open to all women of the church. Our purpose is to know God, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participating in the global ministries of the church. Our prayer chain links every member together in praying for special needs. We pledge our prayers, our time and our gifts.

We have morning and afternoon circles:

• Morning circle – 9:00 a.m. on 3rd Wednesday of each month
• Afternoon circle – 1:00 p.m. on 3rd Wednesday of each month

Our General Meetings are at various times.
